Center of Healthcare Science and Technology Clinches UTAR Research Centre Excellence Award 2022

We are thrilled to announce that the Center of Healthcare Science and Technology (CHST) has once again secured the prestigious Best UTAR Research Centre Excellence Award for the remarkable year of 2022. This remarkable achievement marks the third time that CHST has been honored with this distinction, previously winning in 2014 and 2018.

In recognition of its exceptional dedication to advancing research and technology within the healthcare domain, CHST has been granted a substantial RM100,000 research grant. This grant will empower CHST’s members to continue their relentless pursuit of excellence in research. A significant portion of the funding will be thoughtfully allocated to support conference fees for postgraduate students, fostering the growth of emerging talents in the field. The remaining funds will be channeled into four vital research clusters: brain research, sensor and robotics, signal processing, and biomechanics.

Assoc Prof Ir Dr Chee Pei Song, the Chairperson of CHST, expressed his heartfelt gratitude, stating, “We extend our sincere appreciation to UTAR for acknowledging CHST’s substantial contributions to healthcare research and technology. This award serves as a powerful motivator, propelling us to redouble our efforts and proudly uphold the esteemed reputation of UTAR. With unwavering commitment, we will continue to drive positive transformations in healthcare technology, effectively shaping a brighter and more promising future.”

In a splendid showcase of our multidimensional excellence, the award presentation ceremony also honored one of CHST’s esteemed members, Dr Tan Chun Hui. Dr. Tan’s remarkable achievements were recognized with the Best Teaching Excellence Award, underscoring CHST’s commitment not only to pioneering research but also to the nurturing of exceptional educators.
