(吉隆坡2日讯)为了鼓励年轻科学家进行癌症研究,国家癌症理事会(MAKNA)今年资助9万令吉给3名杰出的年轻研究员,以充作研究经费。 3名年轻研究员分别是来自拉曼大学的郑义凯、威玛蓝,和来自玛拉工艺大学的艾美拉,他们各别获得3万令吉的经费作为研究用途。国家癌症理事会这一届一共收到57份申请。 郑义凯是研究关于诊断和监测脑癌治疗的化学交换饱和转移成像(CEST MRI)、而威玛蓝和艾美拉则是从事关于结直肠癌和结直肠癌干细胞的研究。 马来西亚科学院主席阿斯玛、国家癌症理事董事会代表祖基菲与国家癌症理事总经理法拉希达今日在“MAKNA癌症研究颁奖典礼”上颁发研究经费给3人。法拉希达:盼更多年轻人加入癌症研究 国家癌症理事会总经理法拉希达在颁奖典礼上表示,根据2018年的报告,马来西亚一共有4万3837位新增的癌症病患。她希望,在国家癌症理事会的推动下,未来会有更多的年轻研究员投身加入癌症的研究工作,以减少国内癌症病患增长的问题。 得奖者艾美拉表示,她发现到国人的饮食趋势日渐偏向西方饮食文化,摄取高糖分的蛋糕或咖啡等食物都会增加癌症的风险,因此希望可以通过相关的研究,提高国人对癌症的醒觉,预防胜于治疗。 郑义凯则希望通过监测脑癌治疗成像的研究,让患者得到更好更快的诊断结果,好让患者及早接受治疗,可以更快地康复。 MAKNA癌症研究颁奖典礼是为了鼓励和推动年轻人参与癌症项目的研究,希望在研究中可以找到潜在疗法治疗癌症。自2001年起,国家癌症理事会已经为54位癌症研究者拨款了多达150万令吉的资金。
