The Centre for Healthcare Science and Technology (CHST) co-organized a visit to the Centre for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (CTERM) to provide participants with a practical understanding of the tissue engineering and regenerative medicine industry. A total of 18 students and three UTAR staff members participated in this event.
The event commenced at 10 am with a welcoming speech by Dr. Daniel Law Jia Xian, Head of International & Networking Frontiers at CTERM, who also provided an introduction to CTERM’s background. This was followed by a briefing on CTERM’s research products and outputs by the research officers. Participants were then given a demonstration on how to wear protective clothing, including the jumpsuit worn by personnel working in cell culture laboratories.
Afterwards, the participants were divided into two groups. One group toured the laboratory facilities while the other group toured the Good Manufacturing Practice (GDP) facilities. The two groups were then switched
