A big congratulations to Ms. Xue Xin Goh, a Ph.D. candidate from our research centre and the 2022 MTSF Science & Technology Research Grant (STRG) recipient, for her outstanding presentation during the MTSF Grant Research Symposium 2024 on 6 November 2024, held at University Malaysia.
Her research, titled:
“The in vitro inflammatory gene expression effect of schizophrenia-associated gut and oral bacterial species on SH-SY5Y cell line”
explores the intersection of microbiology and neuroscience, shedding light on how bacterial species associated with schizophrenia might influence inflammatory pathways.
Kudos to her dedicated supervisors, ChM. Ts. Dr. Shiau Foon TEE and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tang Pek Yee, for their guidance and mentorship in advancing impactful research in this field.
